16 February, 2007 · Leave a Comment

The Feminist Archive North celebrates International Women’s Day

We are organising a special evening event to celebrate International Women’s Day 2007, focusing on an often neglected area of recent women’s history, the use of humour.

The event will include:

Jacky Fleming, award winning cartoonist and Guardian contributor, will appear in conversation.

A short film by Jan Wells with Vera Media, ‘Get It Off Your Chest’ celebrating something very close to every woman’s heart. “…Very uplifting.”

Funny Girl or Moaning Minnie? Humour in the Women’s Liberation Movement: An exhibition of material from the Archive.

Updates on FAN projects: FAN has recently received Heritage Lottery Funding enabling us to employ a professional archivist, set up a website and develop outreach and access projects. The event will include reports of exciting developments in these areas, and calls for volunteers to help in the archive as well as for donations of women’s liberation movement material.

Friday 9th March 2007

6 pm for 6 30 pm – 8 pm.

Conference Hall, Leeds University Student Union (Lift access)

Entry Free
